Page Type - PDF Viewer

The PDF Viewer page type can be used to easily display documents that are saved in PDF format. These PDFs are sorted by post date and are displayed directly on the webpage in the PDF viewer. 

Creating a PDF Viewer

  1. On the Content Tree select where you would like the PDF Viewer page to appear on your website
  2. Click on the New(+) button located at the top of the Content Tree
  3. Select the PDF Viewer page type

  1. Enter the name of the page in the List of PDFs field. This is the display name that will appear on the navigation on your website
  2. Click Save

Adding a PDF

  1. Select the PDF Viewer page on the Content Tree
  2. Click on the New(+) button located above the Content Tree
  3. Select Add PDF

  1. Fill in the following fields:
    • Name: The display name of the document (example - January 2017)
    • File Attachment: The actual PDF document; click on the Upload file button to select the PDF from your computer
    • Post Date: This is usually populated with the current date and time and not necessary to adjust. It controls when the PDF will appear on the site and what order it will display in the PDF Viewer. The most current post date will always appear at the top of the list and the order can be modified at any time by adjusting the post date of a PDF. Reorganizing the PDF documents in the Content Tree will not change the order they appear on the page. Adjust the post dates/ time of a PDF so that they appear in the correct order
    • Hide PDF (Optional): If there are any PDF documents that you do not want to be displayed in this section temporarily, you can hide it from the PDF Viewer on the Live Site
  1. Click Save or Save and Create Another if you wish to add additional PDFs
Note: The maximum file size for PDF files within this page type is 10MB. Instead of the PDF being saved in the Media Library it will be found in the Content Tree as a subpage under the PDF Viewer page type that you started with. 
 

Editing a PDF Viewer or PDF

  1. Select the PDF Viewer or PDF from the Content Tree that you wish to edit
  2. Click on the Form tab
  3. Complete the desired changes
  4. Click on the Save button
Note: The existing PDF can be replaced by clicking the arrow under Update (example - January 2017 newsletter was already posted and a new version was created; simply update the existing PDF). There is an editable content box on the Page tab of the PDF Viewer page that displays above the PDF Viewer which can be utilized to add the title of the page, text, images, hyperlinks, etc.

Deleting a PDF Viewer or PDF

  1. Select the PDF Viewer or PDF from the Content Tree that needs to be deleted
  2. Click on the Delete (trash can) icon located at the top of the Content Tree
  3. You will be asked: Are you sure you want to delete the selected page?
  4. Leave the check boxes empty and click on Yes to delete the selected page
