Enable Cookie Notifications

Cookies perform several essential functions that make web browsing smoother, including:

  • Manage Logins
  • Save Progress
  • Store User Preferences
  • Track Analytics
The ClubHouse Online website includes a built-in feature that notifies site users about the use of cookies on the website and provides a link to the club’s privacy policy.

When this setting is enabled, site users can choose to accept or reject the use of cookies during their browsing experience.

The article below explains how clubs can enable cookie notifications and link them to a privacy policy page on their ClubHouse Online website.

How-To Enable Cookie Notifications

To enable cookie notifications, follow the steps below:

  • Log in to the ClubHouse Online website as an administrator.
  • After logging in, Switch to Club Central. This will take the user to the Dashboard view.
  • From there, navigate to the Company Management application.
  • Within the Company Management application, select General Settings from the left sidebar.
  • Under Privacy Settings, select the checkbox Enable Cookie Notification.
  • Enter the URL for the club’s privacy policy in the Club Privacy Policy URL field.
The cookie notification can only be enabled if a privacy policy URL is entered. If the URL is not entered, the settings cannot be saved successfully.

How To Create a Privacy Policy Page

It is important that a club creates a Privacy Policy page in order to successfully enable website cookies on the club’s website. The relevant teams and legal departments should be consulted when drafting the privacy policy document.

To create a page for the Privacy Policy document in ClubHouse Online, refer to How to Create a Page.

If the page should not appear in the website navigation, it can be hidden from navigation. In this way, users will not see it on the website but can still access it using the direct link.

To hide the page from the club's website navigation:

  • Select the page
  • Select the Properties tab at the top, then choose Navigation from the dropdown menu
  • Uncheck Show in Navigation, then save and publish the changes.
