How to Configure Event Categories Online

Categories can be set up for members and staff to easily search for events (Dining, Golf, Social etc.) Categories are setup in JAM/Encore Event Management > Event Types.

Reminder: on the website they are called categories and in JAM/Encore they are referred to as Event Types.

On the website, the Category can be assigned a color to easily find events on the calendar. If a color is assigned, a colored circle will appear before the event name. Once a color is assigned to one category the same color cannot be assigned to another one.

Steps to assign color to category from Website

  1. Login to website
  2. Access the Event Management module from within Club Central
  3. Select Categories tab from left hand navigation
  4. Color Column
    • default is no color, click bar to select color
    • Select one color for the category using the color palette provided (only colors from the palette can be used)
  5. All other columns cannot be modified from website
    • Name - to correct spelling of category - Login to JAM/Encore Event Management > Event Type - Description
    • Default, Disable and Action will always be unchecked and greyed out as this column is view only  
  6. Click Save
